We understand that an organization’s people are the fabric of its success, and we have taken steps to ensure that Forward Air fosters an environment where our team members can bring their authentic selves to work every day – with confidence that they belong. Putting our people first also means ensuring both driver and workplace safety. Keeping our drivers safe remains a paramount focus area of our safety department. In line with this, we have incentivized driver safety through awards programs aimed at safe driving. This includes programs aimed at both clean roadside inspections, no moving citations, and low CSA points. Our Emergency Action Plan, aligned with OSHA standards, takes a proactive approach at ensuring all sites have plans in place for safety incidents to keep our employees safe.

As demand for global freight transportation continues to rise, we see both the challenge and the opportunity: to move goods more efficiently while reducing our environmental footprint. Our approach is rooted in impact and accountability. We began by measuring our emissions with rigor, aligning our disclosures with globally recognized frameworks and ensuring that our reporting is transparent and reliable. Now, we translate data into action, investing in vehicle efficiency, reducing idling, sourcing renewable fuels, and integrating innovative technologies across our fleet and facilities.
Our approach is to measure our emissions aligned with the frameworks SASB, TCFD, GRI, and as of 2025 the GLEC framework. This methodology is aligned with the GHG Protocol. We are always assessing a range of emissions reduction initiatives, including improving fleet efficiency, deploying innovative technologies, reducing energy use in facilities, and integrating renewable energy through onsite installations. We are currently reducing emissions and energy consumption through several ongoing programs, including deployment of engine management technology to manage idle reduction and fuel efficiency, installation of LED lighting in various facilities, and continued expanded employment of electric cargo and package lifts.

As our customers’ transportation partner we understand that our carbon footprint will be a substantial portion of their Scope 3 emissions. We strive to be a valuable transportation partner with our world-class service, but also as a sustainability partner willing to work with our customers to achieve their own goals and objectives as it relates to emissions management.
We are committed to employing proactive measures to protect our network, computer systems, and data from cyber threats to instill complete confidence from our customers, suppliers, and partners when sharing information during our business interactions. We believe that a secure digital environment is a prerequisite for fostering strong, resilient relationships with all our stakeholders. Our proactive measures, including advanced threat prevention and employee security awareness training, are a testament to our commitment to a secure digital future for everyone we serve.
Community
At Forward Air, we are dedicated to creating positive impact in the communities where we live and work. From supporting military veterans to responding to natural disasters and addressing local needs, our team is committed to giving back in ways that matter. Our charitable platform, Operation: Forward Freedom, reflects this commitment by focusing on veteran-related causes. Since launching the inaugural Drive for Hope Golf Tournament in 2022, Forward has raised more than $1.25 million for Hope For The Warriors, a nonprofit dedicated to caring for and empowering service members and military families facing the challenges of war.
We also partner with organizations that drive meaningful impact in both our communities and our industry. Through Truckers Against Trafficking, we provide training to our drivers to help identify and combat human trafficking on the nation’s highways. In addition, our work with Women in Trucking supports the advancement and inclusion of women across the transportation sector. Together, these efforts demonstrate how Forward is committed to building stronger, safer, and more inclusive communities.
