The Challenge
This client required a total solution that could encompass supply chain and return logistics. 3-8 skids of home alarm inventory needed to get to 120 field offices throughout the U.S. Deliveries would need to be made to residences, hotels, apartments, as well as storage facilities. Deliveries needed to provide for lift gate, pallet jack and inside logistics. Each appointment would require a call 2 hours prior to delivery. The return logistics would require pick up within a 2-hour window, involving pallets, shrink-wrap and tape. Returned goods would encompass palletizing on site, truck loading and an accurate count. Return goods needed to arrive back at the warehouse within 3-4 days.
The Solution
Omni Logistics organized the outbound order electronically. Our logistics professionals assembled a dedicated team to coordinate outbound shipments and a separate team for inbound merchandise. We established a discreet email address to communicate with field offices and sent reports morning and afternoon declaring a shipment’s status. Our comprehensive solution meant that field reps were no longer required to wait for goods to appear and meant that the corporate office would no longer need to receive unnecessary calls inquiring about a shipment’s status.
