Every mile matters. That’s why our pickup and delivery fleet is continuously improving efficiency by reducing idle time and cutting unnecessary fuel consumption.
Between FY23 and FY24, these efforts resulted in measurable impact:
- Over 15,000 gallons of fuel saved
- Approximately $60,000 in cost savings
- Nearly 200,000 kilograms of CO₂ emissions avoided
This is sustainability in action at scale—where small operational improvements, applied across a national fleet, drive meaningful environmental and financial results.

Sustainability doesn’t stop on the road. Our terminals are undergoing eco-focused upgrades designed to reduce energy consumption and support long-term environmental goals.
Many Forward facilities now include:
- Energy-efficient LED lighting systems
- Solar panel installations
- Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
We’re continuing to expand these enhancements across our network, reinforcing our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint while improving operational efficiency.
Sustainability in Action with Route Optimization
Sometimes the most impactful change is simply working smarter. Our advanced route-planning technology ensures drivers take the most efficient paths possible: reducing fuel usage, lowering emissions, and improving delivery timelines.
By aligning technology with operations, we’re turning everyday logistics decisions into sustainability wins. It’s another example of how sustainability in action shows up in the details.
Sustainability in Action Through Innovation
Looking ahead, Forward is investing in technologies that push the boundaries of what sustainable transportation can achieve.
Through our partnership with Remora, we are piloting carbon capture technology capable of trapping up to 80% of truck emissions. The captured CO₂ can then be repurposed for commercial use by transforming emissions into a reusable resource.
